Can anyone tell me what the valve clearances should be set at and what torque settings to use for refitting a cylinder head on a 6.5hp Briggs and Stratton OHV engine. Its in a John Deere JS63 mower if that helps any.

Do a google search for briggs & stratton engines...

most of there engines have detailed service manuals for download

you could try B&S website.

Cylinder Head - not too tight.

Valve Clearances - not too tight or too loose.

That ought to do it.
