Question Wrong reg. no. on parking ticket?

A colleague of mine got a parking ticket yesterday, but the ticket has the wrong registration number and the wrong colour for her car. Should she ignore it and see what happens?

The reg has a 1 instead of an I (it's printed, not hand written, so there's no doubt it is wrong), and the car is black and on the ticket is says 'mauve'.

Don't ignore as they will keep after you. I'd write back saying the penalty is invalid due to inaccurate evidence.

How are they going to keep after to you with the wrong registration number on record?

Had it happen to me some years back. Gutted until i got home and realised their mistake

However that was in the days before the yellow perils carried cameras, so perhaps you should keep it just in case they send a reminder, then you can tell them to stick their request for the over-28day higher fine up their bum

Dont traffic wardens (if it was a warden issued parking ticket) take digital photo's of the car they issue the ticket too now.
Could be wrong but remember seeing or hearing somwthing like that.

Go to court with the evidence and plead not guilty! Don't tell the authority anything beforehand!

My girlfriend had similar. They had the right reg, but the wrong car make and colour.

Went into the local office and pointed out their error and got a letter a week later saying the ticket was void

Hello

That happened to me 2 years ago, and nothing came of it.

Post it back to them with a note saying you don't own the vehicle shown on the ticket.

Indeed and whats more how did the fine get to her in the first place ? wrong reg number will show a different address so it means they must have her correct reg number on file somewhere for her ?

Probably because parking tickets are stuck to the car

go to the office and point out that if they can't get basic details right, how can they be sure that you were even parked in the wrong place at all? This is what I recall a relative did and it was canceled without further trouble.
