Wrong reg. no. on parking ticket?
A colleague of mine got a parking ticket yesterday, but the ticket has the wrong registration number and the wrong colour for her car. Should she ignore it and see what happens?
The reg has a 1 instead of an I (it's printed, not hand written, so there's no doubt it is wrong), and the car is black and on the ticket is says 'mauve'.
Geezer

Had it happen to me some years back. Gutted until i got home and realised their mistake
However that was in the days before the yellow perils carried cameras, so perhaps you should keep it just in case they send a reminder, then you can tell them to stick their request for the over-28day higher fine up their bum

Dont traffic wardens (if it was a warden issued parking ticket) take digital photo's of the car they issue the ticket too now.
Could be wrong but remember seeing or hearing somwthing like that.

This happened to me but all the details were correct, didnt send it back. i forgot to be honest.
Found it under the seat so i called them 4 months later.
They said we can not find your car on the DVLA data base LOL, I had just changed to my private reg So she said the tick is now void unless i wanted to give them my address etc etc i said it didnt matter
So call them and tell them its not right see what they say withold your number and dont give your nam e

My girlfriend had similar. They had the right reg, but the wrong car make and colour.
Went into the local office and pointed out their error and got a letter a week later saying the ticket was void

Indeed and whats more how did the fine get to her in the first place ? wrong reg number will show a different address so it means they must have her correct reg number on file somewhere for her ?

go to the office and point out that if they can't get basic details right, how can they be sure that you were even parked in the wrong place at all? This is what I recall a relative did and it was canceled without further trouble.
