Hi,
I had a Yreg about two + years ago - if it has full Audi history it won't be too risky, however you should look for the facelift version (flush door handles) - apart from various improvements, this had better turbo cooling/lub and if you turned it off after a hard drive - some circulation of at least water (maybe oil) continues! Anyway never mind the technical sh!te, buy it - this car was everything to all men. Mine was remapped and exhaust(ed), MTM + Milltek equals 320bhp, 520Nm torques, 0-60 5.5secs, 171mph, unbeleivable acceleration in any gear at any speed - GOD, I loved that car! Do you know with a little clutch slip, you could pick away in 4th gear and then take it up to 140mph . It wasn't an out and out handler, but lets face it, it was a superb compromise, a sleeper, unrecognisable and the cause of many a Porker or Ferrari owner to rethink all their investment when this "******* Audi estate blew me away!"
Just get it, map it and enjoy!
