More IT Help - Word 97/2000 c0000005 (access violation)

Hi,
Most of the users here run Word 2000 (100+), but some also still run Word 97 (30+). The users connect remotely to one of our clients sites and access Word documents on various NetWare servers. We have a mixture of our own PC's, but also around 30 client PC's. All run NT4 SP6a.
Over the past few months more and more users are complaining that Word keeps crashing on them. When I check Dr Watson logs, they all show the same error - c0000005 (access violation).
Now, my solution was to completely rebuild one of the PC's making sure I applied all the latest service packs as I went along. I then imaged the PC using Ghost and have been merrily rolling out the new images.
Now the problem has started to affect the 30 client PC's. These use completely seperate Ghost images and have Office 97 installed. As there owned by the client we're not allowed to install any additional software.
Has anyone seen this error before and more importantly a fix? It's driving me nuts. I can't pinpoint the exact cause and I don't want to start imaging the other 30 PC's unless I can say for sure what causes it.
I've trauled through the MS Knowledgebase, but it's pretty useless.
Help,
Stefan

Ozzy,
a few but maybe totally useless suggestions since no one has replied yet:-
1) Corrupt docs, copy docs to local drive and test
2) Netware path name problem, ie too long, test with short filename in 8.3 format.
3) Upgrade to the newest Netware Client if you use it that is.
4) Check tech docs on Novell web site
5) Still thinking........

Cheers H.
1) Tried them local. It does seem to affect only certain docs. But there nothing special, maybe 1 page with just a simple table.
2) Same as above; copied them to C:\Test
3) Running 4.80sp3 on most, but others 4.6/4.7. Have just downloaded 4.81, so will try that.
4) Will have a hunt tomorrow
5) Me too ......
Thanks again,
Stefan
