Default Cycle insurance?

(Mods, this isn't a Car Insurance post! Hopefully in here it'll attract the cyclists, Ta)

Can anyone recommend somewhere where I can get insurance for:

- Commute & general use
- Theft whilst away from home
- Third party damage
- Medical
- Damage to bike

Most of the time.......... although you do have to list the bike and specify that you want this element of cover.

You may find there is a limit on bike cover of up to £500 or less.

not necessarily, but then i suppose it depends on who your insurer is. if the bike in question is something a bit special, then i suppose it has to be worthwhile insuring it "properly" so to speak

mine is covered under my home insurance, I pay a few quid extra to raise the value to cover my mountain bike..

(don't think it would give me any medical cover though ?)

M&S cover bikes up to a value of £4000 automatically:

Yes, and you do not need to specially mention a bicycle unless it is valued at £4000 or more.

The Contents section will cover your bicycles when it is in your home, an outbuilding or in your garden. The Cover Away From Home section of the policy will provide worldwide cover when they are temporarily removed from your home, including being taken abroad.
