Default Blackberry Pearl 8100?

Anyone got one of these?

What are they like and what exactly do they do that "normal" mobiles cant?

Im currently using a Nokia N73 but won one of these in a competition and am considering using it if its any good.

Cheers

Thumbs up

I love mine although 'suretype' (predictive text) does take a while to get used to.

Cheers

Piece of ****.

Made from bits of crusty toilet paper, really really flimsy.

Looks nice though, and I couldn't live without mine.

I've had mine for 2 months now - best phone I've had and the suretype text entry works a lot better than I was expecting. I can really rattle out the text and emails.

Highly recommended.

Richard.

Had mine for about 5 months now and its been great - the keyboard is slower to use than the older big blackberries, but it looks miles nicer and is much smaller and lighter.

Some of the menu's arent that well thought out I dont think the 'pearl' thing works as well as the old wheel on the side either, but overall the advantages outweigh the disadvantages!

I was looking at one of these as well...

Is the 'Pearl' thing a rollerball-type mouse thing, or more of a joystick control? Is it any good?

What's the camera like anyway? It seems quite a low resolution - the same as my Orange SPV, but I understand it's the lens that makes more of a difference

I've always been after a blackberry pearl, but those 3megapixel sony eriksson ones are tempting as well

I sound like a phone geek there I'm only interested, as my SPV is slowly dying, and with 2 months to go, I'm too stingy to take out the insurance .
