Anyone tried making money off online surveys
Would like to earn a bit of extra cash to pay the mortgage off quicker, and a quick search on the internet reveals you can make money filling in surveys online.
You have to register (about £20) and can earn between £2 and £50 per survey depending on survey type and length.
Has anyone tried this? and how much money can you realistically make each month? Or are they all scams?
I'm not expecting to make a Million, but a few extra notes a month would be nice.
I'm also going to try flogging a few things on ebay each month. Not much though, as I don't want my flat resembling a jumble sale.

It was actually recomended off the pucker `Barclays` website in how to earn extra cash.
That's why I'm thinking it could be a genuine way of making extra money.

There's plenty of sites out there that you can register for free, but don't expect a payout every month. Most cap you to minimum of £20 before you can cash in and you can find that you spend most of your time doing the screening surveys only to be told that you don't fit the profile. Some sites reward you with points, others with vouchers rather than cash. One site that I quickly stopped using rewarded 100 pts for a 20 minute survey, but you needed 9000pts to get £20. By comparison another site pays a £1 for every 5 minutes of your time ie £12/hour but you can only cash it in at £50 and the surveys are few and far between. I can PM you a list of some sites that pay reasonable rewards when I get home.
I do them as and when I'm bored and it probably gives me enough over the year to pay car tax on 2 cars, impreza and a scenic so it's 2 less bills.

Exactly, it's a waste of time from what I've seen. You make a little bit of cash, but for the time doing these surveys you'd make a hell of a lot more doing other stuff. The hourly rate must be appalling.

Go and cheak out Price Comparison and consumer reviews at Ciao they pay for surveys, not much mind, not the sort of figures you have mentioned but still a bit of money, it is free to join, I used to do them once myself.

The one I did best on was The Mutual.net but I got in early. Basically you got shares in the company if you got over so many points. In the early days it didn't take much, 2 credit card applications (so no outlay for me). The shares are now worth over £700

I can.
I had a summer job years ago sat in a corridor with a conveyor belt delivering a non-stop line of plastic vials of contact lens cleaning fluid.
My job was to pick up a block of 6 vials and put them into a squeezing machine.
If a vial leaked it was to be discarded and replaced with a non leaking vial.
The good vials were to be packed neatly into a Pallet box.
The bad vials were to be thrown in a bin.
This had to be done for 3.5 hours on - 30 mins off - 3.5 hours on
Now THAT WAS a much more boring job.
Which is why I made it more interesting by placing the waste bit under the chute and going for a ciggy break.
OR
Even better - Block the chute and cause the production line to back up and get the sterliles guys to pap their keks - If the machine backed up too much it would result in a total shutdown - at least 8 hours rest (for me - not for them!)
Sleeping on top of a 4 foot blanket of heated vials in a pallet box also spends some time in a job this boring !
