Hotel in Derby?
We're heading down to Alton Towers soon and are planning on staying in Derby since it seems to be the liveliest(?) nearby city.
Anyone got any recommendations on hotels in the town centre?

The Park Inn on Mansfield Road has been used in the past by Scoobynetters (NMPU3, Scooby Ball 2 & 3). They're currently replacing the windows there, but it's supposed to be business as usual.
Can't really recommend a hotel as I've never used one in Nottingham - my home city

Another close one is in Uttoxeter (about 15 mins drive away ) small town but a few pubs

Assuming you plan to do the town at night without a vehicle then I would not recommend you stay near Uttoxeter or Ashbourne as you would have to fork out a bit for taxi fees.
There's 3 or 4 hotels on Pride Park very close to town.
The Express By Holiday Inn is one. Can't remember the others..
Or try the Midland or European both also near the centre.

i stayed in a hotel in derby and it was excellent, not sure if its perfect;ly placed for the bars but it was a good hotel. i would definately stay there again !
