Unhappy Washing machine problem..?

Any ideas before I strip down to take a look would help..

Basically the washer keeps filling up with water (regardless of power being on or not..!) and there is some flooding of the floor which only happens whilst the machine is standing and not running (strangely..?).

IMH opinion a valve of some sort inside the machine is fubar'd, but if anyone can advise then that would be great..!

BTW It's an 9yr old Ariston that's had a hard time of late with our new baby and 3 yr old, lol..! So it's done well by today's standards, but I'd still like to make sure it's not an easy fix first..

Cheers,
J

Clean the filter out mine is at the bottom left corner of the machine . Its best to clean it out every few months or it gets clogged and floods the kitchen as i have found out in the past

Similar thing happen to mine but that was just the waste pipe at the back was not high enough so water was coming into the machine (from the sink I assume) tied the waste pipe to the top of the machine and it's been fine since. Possibly not the same thing but worth checking before you start dismantling it!

your water fill valve has failed. until u get a new one just turn the water off at the isolation tap (other end of the water hose leading from the back of the washer - usually under the sink or behind the washer)

Actually it was the cold water hose connection at the washer end leaking..! Sealed with PTTF tape..

Well at least this was part of the problem but doesn't explain the tub filling up, which strangely enough doesn't seem to be happening anymore..?!!

Could still be a dodgy fill valve..!

Thanks anyhow..

Definetly faulty fill valve M8. Take it off, if you can blow through it then it's fecked.
