Car insurance costs - what job u have?
I was just watching a repeat of Top Gear where they got the old supercars and had to insure them.
JC said he was a Doctor and got his insurance very cheaply which got me wondering what would be the best job to say you have within reason to insure your car.
Also what would be the worst jobs where your insurance would be sky high.
Thanks guys

When I started working for a National Newspaper 2 years ago my premiums have gone up. Even though im an IT Engineer they still seem to tar me as a reporter/journalist as its the nature of the business.

The bad ones are pub landlord, entertainment industry and scrap merchant.
The first two because they reckon you might drink and drive and the last one because, well, they think you may be a bit dodgy !

Mine has changed from soldier to unemployed to police office and my insurance quotes haven't ever changed because of employment.
I'm not sure it makes any difference.
I've just cancelled the tracker on my car aswell after finding out it only makes the insurance £5 cheaper. I wish i'd known that ages ago.

not sure if it's still the case but if you worked in the offshore oil industry the cost went up
as they thought that if you did a two week offshore/ two week onshore rotation, whilst onshore all you would do is sit and get pi$$ed up therefore being a higher drink drive risk
well i for one dont sit for two weeks getting pi&&ed up
am never home that long
