Default Starting a new job with a holiday booked...

So what's the general concensus on this then?

For example, if I started a new job with you in May but I asked for two weeks off in June for my (already booked) holiday, how would you react?

Obviously, it would depend on other staff arrangements etc, but in principle?

Thanks for your input

That's why I didn't get the last job I was interviewed for. And what was more upsetting.... it wasn't my holiday but my employer's. I had to cover for an extra two weeks, and couldn't start as soon as they needed me. DOH !

If you mention it up front (not at interview - wait until you have an offer letter) it should be fine, unless cover is a major issue.

You need to tell them ASAP. most likley you will be on a 3 month probation and do not want to pi55 them off to much.

Do not wait until you start in May. tell them when you reurn the offer contract or phone/ email them explaining the situation and you wanted to give them as much time as possible.

Again, I'd say as long as you mention it, it shouldn't be a problem. You're not taking it in the middle of July/August, when probably the majority* of summer holidays are taken.
