I got upgraded free of charge for 6 months, but I had to call and whinge about it first. At the end of it, I'll be out of contract and just getting Freeview.

It sounds like you’ve received similar questions and concerns. We aren’t offering any blanket refunds to customers, as our T&Cs state that elements of our services - such as channels provided by third parties - may be subject to change. But we realise some customers will want to leave because of the decision made by Sky and we have therefore said we won’t hold TV customers to their standard 12 month contract if they wish to leave us in March. So far we’re encouraged by the number of customers who are sticking with us and we’ll be investing heavily in our TV service this year.

you really only have 2 options.

switch to sky.
switch over to freeview or the BT vision thing (freeview + downloads) .

be interesting to see what happens when sky/virgin negotiate sports

It is about time there were real alternatives to Sky ONE, which is just advert ridden bs. Well, apart from Bit Torrent that is

thats option 3 but didnt want to say it :-). when there is a fantastic media player developed for the PS3 and the like and we have faster internet download speeds we will not "subscribe" to TV services and even the likes of sky will be in serious trouble.

the amount of FULL HD 1080p content available out on the web is frankly unreal why would anybody pay sky a subscription for barely a handful of 1080i programmes.
