No planning permission required and no need to comply with building regs. You would never be allowed to build such a flimsy poorly insulated shed on dry land. Hope it sinks.

agree with that, i was telling the G/F that the program is really good, and that last week a bloke bought a battered old castle and sorted it out, explaining how these people nearly ruin themselves for a dream home

and then we saw the clanky old boat

quite impressed with them TBH

i had a leaflet in the post last week about the same kind of thing, except they were marketed at business users and offices.

could you buy a plot of land, 4/5 of these containers and build a cheap house, cheaper then buying a new build somewhere?

Only problem is the exterior asthetics. They are an eyesore otherwise they'd be great at home for storage/garage/whatever.

yes but they could be dressed up with cladding i suppose, a triangle roof could be added, its been a while since i was in a container but 4 containers put together would give the equivalent size of a large house?

i think the container city, looks very fresh and funky, although i could see problems trying to sell a apartment because most people prefer bricks and mortar/cardboard and plaster

I turned it off after 10 minutes for 2 reasons.

1) I could tell it was going to be ****.

2) Ting Tongs voice grated on me from the off.

If you have to build a house boat from scrap, you might as well do it with some style:

Now that's a proper job!!
