That's Nothing, Rover's K-series engines run on water with no problems. Just as well considering they always blow head gaskets LOL
Before I scrapped mine, I ran it to work everyday without coolant (the blown gasket blew the radiator). LOL

i ran my '87 audi 80 for 4 years without topping up the radiator
I thought it was a sealed system
I only noticed when it overheated on a hot sunny july afternoon in an M25 jam coming out of heathrow.

I once owned a CVH engined escort that had a split heater matrix, my Dad turned the heater on one morning (to be fair it was -5) and it dumped all its water all over the carpet I drove it to work and back, 8 miles each way, for 3 or 4 days before I could be bothered putting any fresh water in it. Sold it still running 3 months later
