Default Could this be a scam?

Posted my Subaru up for sale in the Autotrader, and have had a this email from a guy.

"Hii ,

Good Day to u,

My Name is Frank Wood.

I saw ur ads on the web site which am really ok with the illustration u gave on the site.Really i just wanted to know if its still available or not,if still available pls do get back to me so that we can really talk on it.Also i will want um pls tell more details Which u forget to add on the site.

Thanks soo much and i look up to ur urgent response today..

Regards.

Frank..."

My first thoughts were scam, but I sent a reply anyway.

"The car is due for the 82K service, present milage is 79,500 and I will be putting the car in for this service at Subaru.

It has full Subaru service history from new.

No smoke or noises.

I've had it since August 2005, I'm only selling due to the fact that my wife is having a baby, and she says the car's ride is to harsh.

I'm not really open to offers as its a very good car and well worth 6k.

The car is a ex Subaru promotions car from new, Nicky Grist had it as his company car when he and Colin were driving for the Subaru World Rally Team

Only problem I've had with the car was the clutch which went 6 months ago so it has been replaced. It also has had a new MAF sensor on it about 12 months ago."

Then this morning I had this reply from Frank

"Hii Good Day,

Thanks soo much for the mail and yea just to let u know that i am not in the position to make call right now cos my phone dont have the permit to make an international call.So u dont need to worry once we conclude on everything i will locate a local pay phone station to give u a call. But
am really ok with the details i got from the web site and its really my taste.

Pls i will want u to give me more details on the Shock absover,Engine,Radiator, tires condition and the documentation of the car.

Really just to let u know that as for the payment,i will be paying with a Certified Banker Draft drawn from a local bank in UK and as for the shipping i will handle that myself by contacting my international shipping agent to really handle that for me.Also can u help me send more pics of
it if u can and if not u dont need to worry urself about that am ok with this one.

Really I based Kompehenger here in Denmark were i work as a Mechanical Enginer but originally from Wales(Dad if from Wale and mum from Oslo Noway). As for the price i will want u to let me know the last price so that the payment can be sent.

If u are ok with me then u can mail me back and let us conclude on everything today.

Thanks soo much...

Regards..."

Now I'm thinking deffo a scam, if I'm wrong sorry Frank give me a call...

What do you think should I stay away?

Scam diddly.

Had a room for rent in a flat this month. Got a reply from a modelling agency, who wanted to take the room for one of their female models from South Africa. They wanted to pay the 6 months rent all in advance, and at the end, I could pay them any change. Not sure how this scam worked, but I wasn't going to find out. If it sounds too good to be true...

In your case, do I take it this lovely buyer was going to pay whatever cost you asked for? Some people are desperate to get rid of their car, and if they send enough emails to enough people, someone will fall for it.

E-Mail back and tell him that the Price was a mistake, it is actually £500,000 - is he still interested?

If a scam he will come back without batting an eyelid ..........

its an advance fee fraud

They pay you more than you want and then give him the change. However he pays you using a dodgy cheque that bounces after you have given him change.

Alternatively it relys on banking system claw backs - ie if you BACS some money from account A to Account B, then the bank finds out account A had money depoited fraudulently, they claw back the money from Account B.

The way to avoid that is to use CHAPS was has no claw back arrangement
