I fixed mine yesterday
The most common problem with the Amstrad/Pace badged boxes is a lack of signal, shows "no signal being received"
Sky wanted £45 to fix the box, did a bit of research and found a modification kit for £1.50

Ordered it, 2 tiny surface mount capacitors go in the tuner module.
Fitted them (not recommended unless your a dab-hand with a soldering iron) and bingo, only bleeding worked init

They say this is what happens on most of these, so don't go throwing them away when this happens!!

Its good bye Telewest hello Sky for me much better

For all that hassle of soldering etc, I'd give you £45 to get a new one..

A new one costs agood deal more than 45 quid, from sky they are about 200quid, you only get one free if you connect it up to your telephone for 12 months, and they test it. So you don't get a free dish/box unless your in the UK and have a phone. Plus only 1 special offer per household from memory. So once its buggered thats it you need to pay.

Regards
Cammy

Hi

My dad ordered the kit for me, just rung him and he got it from SEME, tel number 01664 484000
or
email sales@seme.co.uk

They will only work on Amstrad Digiboxes, the part is inside the tuner and I can't stress enough how small the bits that need to be fitted are, they are approx 2mm long

Good luck anyone that has a go though..
