We're looking to take down a 1970's flat-roof kitchen extension and conservatory and replace them with a two-storey extension in-keeping with the rest of the house (Georgian period).

We also want to redesign and move some rooms around internally. House isn't listed, but is in a conservation area.

Can anyone recommend a decent architect in the Berkshire area (we're outside Reading); alternatively list any ones to avoid!?

If you contact the RIBA and tell them what you are intending to do, they will give you a few names of the most suitable RIBA practices in your area.....we get a lot of contact from potential Clients via this route.

Thanks Dave - handy "architect finder" on the website has given me a couple of local firms to call - most seem to be 2 or 3 man outfits.
