Holiday to Thailand?????
Just after a bit of advice on Thailand if anyone can help?
The Mrs wants to go for 2 weeks in June, is this a good time of year for weather etc?
Anyone advise on the best places to visit? Im thinking a week in Phucket and a week in Koh Sumui as we dont want anything to manic as she likes beach time
Some people say the best way is to just book flights and sort hotels when we get their though im not keen on this, any advise?

June is the at the start of the rainy season so you'll have to expect the odd 15 minute downpour.
I always prefer to do flights and hotels separately, it gives you a bit of freedom if you don't like a place or hotel.
Sawasdee.com - Thailand's tourism portal and hotel reservations is the best place for hotels.

Come over to AC and save money. I had a choice years ago to buy a bar in Thailand but decided to go to the Phillipines instead. Nicer and cheaper.I now own 2 bars and a Hotel . I hear from my friends who own bars in Thailand that business isnt doing well as people are getting sick of the rising costs.

I have visited Thailand on numerous occasions and have never had a problem finding accomodation whilst over there. Dont worry about that.
I can only recommend leaving the other half at home though!

Christmas is a good time to go.
Can't advise where you should take your missus though as I went to the "sick sex tourist areas" and unless you want a divorce. stay well away from Pattaya.
I just booked a flight, once there, tell the taxi man / woman which area you need to go to and off you go (pay before you leave usually).
about 2000 Baht for a taxi to Pattaya (1 1/2 hrs drive) using the motorways.
You can get it cheaper but it'll take longer, as they don't use the Motorways and then keep stopping trying to get you to buy stuff from their mates / families market stalls.
Once into the heart of Thailand, travel around in a "baht bus" much cheaper than a taxi, just don't get on one if it's parked up, you need to flag it down..
10 baht to go across town. lol
June is a bad idea unless you want to get washed away when it rains... it bloody well rains.

That's not the point, the prices double and triple in some cases - when you spend £200 a night in high season and can get it for £60 in the low it's a big saving over 2 weeks. Especially when the weather is the still similar.

Depends on budget. If you feel like treating the missus I would suggest the following. The photos don't actually do it justice, if I get time I'll post up my own. Pimalai Resort & Spa, Koh Lanta, Krabi, Thailand

I dont see why anyone would want to go to thailand on holiday TBH.
Best place I have ever stayed is Luxury Hotels in Jamaica | Half Moon Rose Hall | Caribbean Resorts and Vacations
beats thailand anyday.

Not the best time humid with some downpours - nothing if you hail from North Wales mind Flights seem to cost as much as in peak - paid £1000 for two for 3 weeks there in June today...
Phuket & Samui are pretty tacky & developed by now - would suggest the islands below Phuket to be a bit less touristy [Ko Phi Phi , Koh Lanta etc]. I'm doing 4 days in Samui though - and buying my T shirts there too! You could do something like night train to Laos/Luang Pra Bang for 3 nights - much more an adventure than Phuket [and I speak as a total Thailand fan].
You could sort hotels when you get there as its off peak, but may get slightly better deals/less worry if you pre-book at least a couple.
Enjoy!
