Default Virgin media - cant cancel!

Enough has been posted about the Sky One fiasco, annoying 1000's of customers by taking the decision out of our hands over just 3p per day....

But for the last few days Ive been trying to cancel by TV to sign up for Sky yet its impossible to get thru.

They no longer give you the chance to hold, today I get a message saying waiting times are around 30mins.... some music and then a message saying thankyou, call back later and they hang up on me!!!

My perception of the Virgin brand is rapidly falling, shame really.

Don't you think that call volumes may be at a higher than normal level? They could always outsource to India.

Watchdog said last night that in March only you can cancel in contract...

Go to SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers

Search for an alternative number and type in Virgin media. It will come up with a list of numbers to choose from. I am trying the disconnections line which is allowing me to hold but I have been waiting for 20 mins at the mo. Think I will try again at 7am to see if its quieter.

I want to complain about the loss of Sky one so they will upgrade my package for free!

im on virgin they cant charge you for the channels they took of, call 173 if you got cable phone

Well I eventually got thru and said that I was unhappy at loosing sky one and wanted to quit. They didnt offer to upgrade me but did say that they will waive the reminder of the contract for all customers until the end of march.

Will try again in a week or so, not staying if they dont upgrade me.
