Default Wogan gets paid for Children in Need

It would seem that according to this story Terry Wogan gets paid for hosting Children in Need and not only that, is the only person paid in connection with the annual fundraising event.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Wogan charity fee defended by BBC

Now while I know he does a lot of good for the chairty does anyone not think that just maybe he should donate his fee? Maybe he does donate perosnally and if so fair enough, but I would be a lot happier to see his fee publically donated.

It sticks in my throat a little to hear a man who is on £800K of our money a year and virtually begs for donations to the charity from all of us say that he would willingly do it for nothing. So why not do it for nothing then or is it because he's been found out after all these years?

A £9,000 honorarium is hardly commensurate with being on prime time tv for seven hours - nonetheless it would be warming to hear that he donated it to a good cause...

...or even better replaced by someone who it actually watchable!

I find this information surprising and disappointing. To be prepared to take this "honorarium", especially when he is paid what he is for a morning show, seems pretty hypocritical to me and says little for his true character.
