TomTom 510 Battery Life (when not in use)
My TomTom is fine when in use - lasts around 4hrs from a full charge. However when I store it away it always seems to lose a lot of charge i.e. flashing battery. I always fully charge beforing putting away and sometimes we are only talking a few days.
At first I thought it was due to the power button issue whereby you only glance it and it turns itself on, but since the firmware update this doesnt happen anymore.
Just checking if this "feature" happens to other Tom Tom x10 users or if Im just a lucky one
Cheers,
Si

Maybe it is the same as some digital cameras. Some power is always taken from the batteries, even when switched off, to run the memory bit which you can use to key in dates etc.
I always remove a battery when I store the camera to break the circuit.

Mine dropped from full to ~ 1/3 after a week of no use.
It's permanently connected to 12v when used in my car, and runs off the battery in my wife's. Still lasts a good few hours on battery though.
(It's a TT G0 500 btw)
