I have two PC's
PC1 & PC2.
I have a folder on PC1 called c:\data that everything is stored on.
I have a folder on PC2 called c:\backup. (shared as backup)
I want to be able to have a simple program (batch file) that i can launch on PC1 which will
1) ask me if PC2 is turned on?
if yes
2) Copy all the contents of c:\data to \\pc2\backup.
Can anyone give me any pointers or tell me where i could look to work out how to do this?

Basic batch file - expand as necessary
@echo off
cls
choice /T:N,5 Is PC2 on?
if errorlevel 2 goto end
xcopy \\pc1\data\ \\pc2\databackup /e
:end
This will wait 5 seconds for you to answer the question then default to NO and not do the copy.
