Default Kitchen fitting...ballpark figure?

I have boguht a kitchen and need to get it fitted...

So far I have had various joiners give me a price...the price is ONLY for fitting the units and tiling between them...

1.£750
2.£2000
3.£1550

Now, there is little to tell bewteen these blokes...they all claim to be experienced joiners, but I am unsure which rice is the 'going rate'...

Im told it will take 5 days, so £750 sounds very reasonable.....

We paid 2 joiners £1000 to fit our kitchen. Took them 4 days. We were told that was expensive

How many units are to be fitted and what area in square metres is to be tiled? I am assuming this installation doesn't include electricity and gas work.

Where abouts are you mate?
We used the same fitter to install a kitchen into my last house and now the extended house we have. It's larger than your average kitchen and he charged £800 all in. Took him 5 days to complete. He even took some parts home during the week and carried out a few neccessary mods to the units.
He did a cracking job.
Tiler charged £80 for the walls and £100 for the floor (24 sq. m inc. downstairs WC and hallway).
It's all down to who you know and a bit of trust/luck!

Nick

PS sink and all units were relocated as the room is totally different layout. Plumber and electrician paid for separately

18 units, only tiling between the units, about 2 sq metres

We are keeping the sink and appliances in exactly the same place, so no bother there....

No electric work, no painting, no floor tiling, no ceiling work either!

Kitchen is flat pack though...

A good joiner to fit a kitchen will charge between £150 - £200 pounds a day. Believe me it's worth paying the extra for it to look right.

For an experienced joiner there is three days work at most. I should say £750 is probably the going rate not cheap but not expensive either. The other quotes you've had are taking the ****.

Totally agree with that.

£150 per day is a fair price to fit a kitchen and what I would normally charge. Though I've done 3 since Xmas at a fixed price of £500 which I think is cheap - I don't like working outside at this time of year so I'm happier doing the kitchens even though the last one was a pig and took me 6 days (Mon to Sat) but I'd rather spend 6 days and know I've done a good job than rush it and it not be 100%.

If you have the expertise then people will pay for it. Although insist on paying by cheque and demand a proper receipt.

A mate of mine who is a time served joiner fitted our kitchen and charged us £800, instead of his usual £1250. He took 5 days and made a fooking excellent job of it
