Default Watch Guru's...Vintage Omega Speedmaster MKII

Gents (or indeed ladies) how much should I expect to pay for an absolutely mint 70's Omega Speedmaster MKII with the rarer grey face?

http://home.xnet.com/~cmaddox/omega/...vincent/02.jpg

Also (probably less likely to find someone that knows this) how much for a BlancPain 100hr power reserve. Again this one is absolutely mint, nearly new, all boxed with papers etc.

http://images2.fotopic.net/?iid=yiwl...ze=1&nostamp=1

thanks
Ed

Worthless at that age mate, send us the watches and a cheque for £50 and I'll dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way.

FYI the Omega I've been looking at is circa £1k and the Blancpain about £1,800 although I can get the latter as low as £1550 with cash (it was a £3.5k watch a couple years back)

Thoughts?

No idea about the Blancpain really. For the Speedmaster, I'd reckon 800-1000 depending on condition, so £1k doesn't sound bad if it's in really good nick.

Nice watches I think, and definitely collectable.

Well, just bought it.

Unbelievably, it is new old stock. 1973 and never even been worn, still has the plastic on the back! I'm almost tempted not to wear it!!!

I got him down from £1100 to £950 so very pleased.

Aye, very pleased, always wanted one. I have very slim wrists and large watches usually look ridiculous on me (I always wanted a 50th anniversary Rolex with the Green bezel, but it just looks stupid!) however despite being built like a house brick it really suits me.

One question. It never came with a box (often an issue).

The guy said the old original red Omega 70's square boxes are hard to come by, he has one which is used just for his display. Any idea where I could look to find one / how much? I imagine all the collectors and dealers are always snapping them up?

Very nice indeed... and that sounds like a good price for new old stock. Job done!

Looks like my lucky day, look what I just found (and won after a tense 'last minute' bidding war!!!)

The Omega is right up my street !! (avenue, close what fkn ever !!)

But whats going on with the pic with the back off? Try not to have th eback off at all. too much contamination ect can get in. Love to see how it works>> after not been used for such a long time. Might need a quick clean and lubrication> ?? Wind it up by hand and then see !! (Please no , muppet reply from idiots asking me why I said "Wind"!! because you start a automatic by hand. The automatic bit keep it "On power"

I have 4 x red cases with white outer boxes !!

The money you paid was ok. Its not about what you have paid. Its more what you got. If its a good runner and you love it ? Then great !!

I guessed by your name it might be up your alley / passage / etc.

The pics are from the guy I bought it off, very respected small dealer who has been looking for a couple different watches for me for a while. He did a full check / lubrication etc. for me and photographed the workings while the back was off. Seems to be keeping perfect time and the chrono function works perfectly!

I assume the case I bought above is a modern one? Any idea where I can find an original 70's one? You got any of those?

depends ..! They have different metal badges on the top of the case. You need to know exactly what version matched the watch. I wont sell mine as the "Complete" kit is worth far more should I sell my watches.

Do me a favour? If you ever come across a 70's box on its own, buy it for me and I'll reimburse you.

This one I have just bought will do me in terms of keeping it safe but would be nice to have an original box!
