Got to say after playing through the whole of Operation Flashpoint (codemasters) that it must be the best war game I've ever played.
Absolutely fantastic.
I know some people didn't like the graphics, and admittedly they're not state-of-the-art but they DO do a great job of immersiing you in it all.
So Operation Flashpoint bites the dust, and I'll get cracking with Commandos2 when I next get some time (usually late at night when the girlfriends in bed)

Actually i was just thinking, op flashpoint being the best wargame ever..... hmmmmmmmmm
Personally i didnt get on with it, got tired of getting shot by a bush 8 miles away that i couldnt even see what was attacking me.
But a friend got really into it.
But as for best wargame, theres nothing like the old classic beach head 2

I know what you mean about finding the enemy hard to spot, but believe me, back in WW2 when I was fighting the Hun it was just as difficult so I reckon they got it spot-on for realism.
Commando was better than BeachHead 2 anyways. Knew the bloke who wrote it for the c64 - genius.

Actually Hun is a generic term and may be used to describe any destructive person.
It can refer to Germans generally AND also the Germans who fought in World War I, so we're both right, but me more-so than you, naturally.

In fact who cam remember the fun you had of trying to get you your soldiers up to the machine gun post at the top of the screen between the gaps in the walls whilst another player tried to take them out.

Quite liked Op Flash - didn't really enjoy the tank driving bits though. Very realistic, ie get shot and yer practically dead. I think I got quite far in it but the PC decided to crash and erase an entire disk partition last weekend so I lost all my save games for that and many other games, most annoying.
Installed Ghost Recon Last night, had to laugh as in the first mission, you have to go and capture som guy that is hiding in some caves!!!!
Top game none the less.
