Jason Statham and crap movies
Hi,
What is up with Statham and the latest crap movies he has been in?
First it was Transporter 2, then Revolver, and lastly Chaos. He has been in absolutely rubbish films without a hint of storyline and with horrendous acting, not so much on his behalf but with most of the rest of the cast, some of which are quite renowned actors!
Are they acting like **** just to make him look good?
It is a shame 'cause after "Lock & Stock" and "******" there was some talent ready to be used.
Another useless muppet actor?

Yeah, know what you mean..... Haven't seen Chaos, but Crank was predictably awful! The first Transporter was pretty good for what it was. Revolver I thought was one of the worst films ever made, with so much talent and opportunity, that was a disgusting, pretentious waste!!!
I guess there aren't many roles for a 'ard lad from Sarf London in Hollywood. And you can't blame him for taking sh*tty, rubbishy roles because they will pay his mortgage for five years.
Would like to see him in another decent film soon!

I'm sure he is really concerned when he checks his bank balance ;-) He knows what he can do and that's fair enough. I remember reading an interview with William Shatner years ago - everyone taking the p*** out of Star Trek with its dodgy sets and acting - he freely admitted it, but he made a decent living and as an actor he took what was offered. It's only the very biggest stars who get to pick and choose their roles. Mate of mine has been an actor for years - he is very good (but then so are many others). He would put aside his objections to crap scripts and dodgy acting for a few of Statham's pay cheques!

Revolver was considered the "worst movie of the year" when it came out.
It had some potential but it was not used! The story seemed like it was made up as it went along!
Chaos is sort of the same thing, an overused storyline with some bad effects etc etc. Shame.

Hes just the new Van Damme - gets all the 'ard man on the rampage low-budget action movie roles. Cant blame him for taking the roles - I expect he's living the good life with 8 figures in the bank.

Van Damn (!) was better off, he has more recognition and his latest films were not as bad as Jason's ones!
In fact the time that Damn took to "lose" his quality as an actor was far longer than Jason's....

Reminds of a classic Michael Caine quote:
"I've never seen Jaws 3, people tell me it's not very good, but I have seen the house it paid for, and that's very beautiful."
Actors are just like anyone else, they have **** days at work too, so long as the bills get payed WGAF

Anyone who took Crank seriously needs a sense of humour. It was meant to be over the top and scripted to look unbelievable. Once you realise its actually a parody of action films it easier to sit back and enjoy rather than trying to get your head round it.
I have yet to hear anyone say they liked Revolver, yet the big actors in it also read the script and still took the pay cheque so you can't really blame him.
The Transporter seems to be his own little franchise so you can't really pan him for that.

Somebody lent Crank to me on DVD, so last night I sat down annd watched it.
Yes it was sh!te, but it was entertaining sh!te, so long as you suspended your disbelief
At least it didn't make me want to put my foot through the TV like the great steaming heap of excrement that was Pearl Harbour

I watched transport 2 the other day, I actually thought it was rather good. However that wasnt down to his good acting, but rather his bad acting if that makes sense.
He was okay in lock stock and ****** and okay in the italian job, but other than that...
