Petition the PM, "Scrap the Humber Bridge Tolls"
Please support this petition, even if you never use the Humber Bridge:
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Cancel the Humber Bridge debt and reduce tolls.
For WHY, read on:
The Humber Bridge is the most expensive bridge toll in the UK, at £2.70 each way. Unfortunately, the bridge came into being around the same time as the ill-fated County of Humberside.
The then Humberside Health authority set up it's specialist care so that people from the south bank had to cross the bridge to access it.
Thus we have a situation where sick people suffering from cancer and a whole host of other major problems, have to pay £5.40 each time they need treatment. There is no other option. Some of them have to go twice or three times per week
It's a tax on ill-health, and just to rub salt in our wounds, anyone using the bridge to visit someone in Hull Prison GOES FREE, both ways!

Can we have a petition to scrap all petitions?
Online petionining is becoming a tad infectious, like crabs...
It's a big bridge, it cost a lot of money to build... If the toll matters so much then buy an amphibious landing craft

It is and always has been a farkin outrage what they charge to cross it. I did the Dartford crossing just before Xmas and it seemed to represent excellent value for money at just £1 by comparison
