I think it's Barbour that are classed as the daddy of waxed jackets.
I remember having one myself some years ago, just be sure to buy some
decent waterproof leggings aswell though, you'll get soaked by the run off
otherwise !!!!
Beaten to it

Barbour. A good Thornproof last as long as you do. Ive got an Australian wax jacket which is very good too (my brother lives there). The make is Drizabone (Im not ****ting you!) and theyre excellent too.

I've got a Barbour jacket for wearing when I ride in pre-65 motorcycle trials.
A nicely worn in second hand one from Ebay. Much tougher than any modern fabrics I can think of.

oh you have seen it aswell. its a fine line between pleasure and pain. but if you have a hairy chest, then its not advisable!!
anywhere that sells the Barbour jackets, also sell a small tin of wax which re-waterproofs it when they get a little worn

barbour and drizabone both quality coats.
Worthwhile having a look at the Barbour factory shop in South Shields if you are near there or ever go near there
They sell seconds and samples and can be really cheap
