£139 in DIXONS
I don't need Europe maps or anything other than the UK
Seems bloody cheap - any good for an old fella whose eyes are going??
Is there an annual charge or anything further to pay ever?

I thought you were all into your Sat Navs and Speed Camera detectors???
Or was all the worship of everything TOM-TOM just last years fad?

I have the C310 and am very pleased with it, not sure what the C510 offers over the 310 but I would say go for it, I was pleased with it at 200 quid, I suspect that they are cheaper as the are the old sort of CRT telly shaped thing wheras the new ones are slimmer, dont use it much but when I have its behaved itself perfectly, worth 139 quid just to avoid the stress of getting lost in a strange place with the missus pecking your head !

Well, a few years ago these pages were full of Sat Nav help/info/advice ...... now, nothing.
Have you all got your Sat Navs? Are they actually a waste of money, like Sandwich Makers, Teasmaids and Ronco/K-Tel Products?
What I really want to know is - are there any further costs involved further down the line? Are updated maps available free? What about upgrades via the Internet?

I have the i3 and it has proved useful.
Seems sat navs have gone the way of all technology nowadays.Exercise a bit of patience and you get them for next to nothing (think Halfords have a half price sale on as well)

Pete, just buy one, use it, worry aabout it later, the worst that can happen is that you have to spend another hundred quid on one at some point. I know you can get the POI layers off the net, speed cameras and the ike, I heven't bothered yet as I do the same commute and know where they are, I suspect maps will be a similar deal. I dont really think the prices will go back up, cheap to produce I expect and the technology cannot be drip fed to the market anymore like it used to be, its a free for all to mop up all the sales they can while people dont yet have one, I mean, its not something most will upgrade for the sake of it, it tells you where to go but after that, what mp3, bluetooth etc, cant see the point.
Hopefully at some point I will be able to leave the bloody thing in the car without some gibbon causing a grands worth of damage to nick it.
