Default Sky connection advice please

Today i disconnected the sky at the back of the digibox (screw in ariel)and after reconecting things exactly the same as it was before, I now have "No satellite signal is being received" message on my tv.

I have tried a number of times fiddling about with the srew in ariel but to no avail. I have spoken with sky who have gone through their procedures over the phone but still no joy. They are sending an engineer on Tuesday but im too impatient to wait.

Can i have broken the box by disconecting the ariel or could it be something else?. The box was working fine before i interfered with it.

Any advice appreciated

There is a fuse in the box that sometimes blow if you don`t unplug it from the mains before unscrewing the F conector. But if you have an on screen message the box is working and it is probably the LNB that has blown.

It's very likely you've upset the connections in either or both of the F connectors. It's happened to me a few times - just disassemble them and check them out for either a short or a poor connection.

Failing that, it could well be as All Torque says - an internal fuse. It's unlikely to be your sat box.

i recently re-wired mine as i moved the box around - they are very fussy and unless the f connector is just right they will easily show zero signal.

For anybody that is interested it was the sky ariel.

Apparently if the internal core of the ariel touches the fine wire that coates the plastic then this will cause loss of signal.
