Yep, removing the opposition was the tactic.
I am genuinly dissapointed we won't see Robert again.....instead we get the woeful Eton Road and the bloody McDonald brothers!

Simon:
"I'm going to judge based on the performance tonight"
"I'm making my decision based on who can go further"
I can't believe I shouted at the telly about a bloody talent show!

I think that the voters are basically racists, it's mostly always the black artists in the bottom 2 each week ... it's a farce. Robert should have been in the final & I for one won't be watching it now.

I think Robert has been great but in the head to head he did not sparkle. I also don't think he has a recording voice in the noughties...but would be great in the West End where he can work with Ray
I agree with Simon, Ben and Leona and I vote Leona

There's hope for you yet. How many episodes of this pig's garbage did you sit through before you realised that little truth?

It's probably the BEST thing that will happen to the chap tonight - with exception of Will Young & Girls Aloud, there's been no real talent come from those who've won these things.
The best are those who don't win - Lemar, Liberty X for example.
I would bet my career on the fact that they are all already signed up - some will get better deals than others.
You haven't seen the last of him.

Too true. Didn't think much of Simon before this, now he's taken a real nose dive & shown what a complete tw*t he is. It should be about who is good not all political / tactical.

Lastnight was the first time I have watched it since one of the amusing shows right at the start.
I was shocked by the lack of real talent on stage. The long haired guy and the lass that looks like a cross breeding experiment between a cat and a horse are the only ones that sound anywhere near good.
The group that was in the final 2 ! It was cringeworthy and WTF was that high-pitched freak of nature on the end ? I take it that's their token gay, goth weirdo.
The panto between the judges seems to be there to mask the fact the acts are poor this year. It only makes sense that each year the 'talent' out there will be less and less if they are sifting their way through thousands year on year.

1) Leona was best by a country mile
2) Ben was good but really only a great cover for a Cocker song (he didn't add much of his own)
3) Robert was next in line
4) The rest were complete rubbish. The Macdonalds might make it at an old people's home charity concert. Eaton Road should be shot.
Strange that the judges each managed to keep two acts each so far
Footnote: Anyone remember Joe Cocker/Jennifer Warne "Up Where We Belong"?

IIRC Lemar came third and has by far the better career than Will Young and erm.... the other guy (cant remember his name).
Sometimes losing IS winning ;-)
