Default Royal Mail scam

The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam:
If a card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number).
DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS

I think the poster meant, alluding to be royal mail, but then we all got that..

it would be bad form for royal mail to actually scam people, we all know they do it anyway what with the stamp increases every 6 months and bloody "we left a card in your letterbox cos we couldnt be arsed to ring the bell" scams and lets charge by size as well as weight....what next?

New charges to be introduced based on
1. it "looks" heavy
2. it "feels" heavy
3. it has something inside charge
4. It is going further than 2 miles

etc

Had this e-mail so many times, best if people checked things out first.

Just to point out - currently the highest rated call available in the UK for premium rate numbers is £1.50/min so there's no danger of stupid £15 charges just for listening to a short message!

Jethro of landsend puts his letter in to his local post box.
Posty empties box and puts contents into his van.
Posty drives van to office and the letters are sorted.
They're then placed onto a plane flown more then 1000 miles to John O' Groats.
Here the letter is taken out, sorted and put into another van and driven, 99.3% of the time, to the correct address and delivered by hand within 48hrs.

And they have the cheek to charge a staggering 32p for this????
