i did this with SKY years ago after loads of people told me to threaten to leave
apparently they gave 3 months free to keep customers
all they said to me was ' bye then'
lol
i'm on AOL but the amount of time spent on hold , now an 0845 number , then i talk to someone that i can't understand(indian,pakistan or geordie) i think i'll stay as i am...

If you have a look at AOLs Broadband message boards you'll find people have been knocking them down to £9.99 a month for ages. SOme have also managed to get a wireless router as well!

Being the doubly tight ar$se that I am I just call them up on their 0117 911100 [non rip off 0870] number - I spoke to a nice Irish chap :-)
Next: Kick off against 0870 number downtrodden squeezed Britons! Sky made about 30p '0870 kickback' out of my phonebill yesterday by keeping me on hold. Outrageous!!

I find it all a bit dubious.
Yeah you get it reduced but in the background they then reduce your bandwidth allocation?
I recently had my bandwidth increased and it made stuff all difference, did not matter as it was FOC.

Same speed and same unlimited bandwidth - 'AOL Silver 1Mb'. Iinitial offer was more free bandwidth which didnt interest me. Its already 2Mb according to my modem diagnostics anyway

i was paying £17.99 a month with AOL, then they were advertising the same broadband service for £14.99pm with a free broadband wireles router, did the live help bit, and the geeza said " yes you can have it for £14.99 a month, as long as you take another 12 month contract with us" so i thought -
