Default House Vandalism

Hi All

Recently moved to what apparently looks like a nice new (10yr) respectable estate. You know the type, middle management type houses, nice manicured lawns and gardens that sort of thing.

Anyway, as we got to know our neighbours a bit better they divulged to us that the previous owner suffered a bit of mindless vandalism. Stones thrown at the cladding tiles, that sort of thing.

Anyway, apart from a few kids ringing the door bell and running away we have had no problems what so ever. Last night, however, quite late after all the Halloween celebrations calmed down, something hit the front of the house.
I immediately went outside to investigate, no one to be see at all. Thought nothing of it. However, this morning in the daylight I found rocks on the front lawn. Nothing there earlier, as I had mowed it.

Either it was spoilt b*****d kids that didnt get enough sweets or it is the old problem kicking off again.

Sorry for the long post but how would you guys go about sorting this problem.

Just thought I should add, that I am new to the area and have had no unpleasantness with anyone whatso ever....so I don't think I have upset anyone. Hence thinking it the old problem starting again.

Never had this sort of trouble before so would appreciate any advise.

I would report to the police to get the matter on record, then proceed to install CCTV quietly to try and catch whoever it is.

Catching them or getting violent might get you into trouble and having a word to them about why you are being targetted would make you come across as weak, they'd have a laugh and up their efforts.

If you report it to the police or Council you will be duty bound to disclose the details when you sell the house that may turn out to be an unwise decision.

We had a house brick thrown against the side of the house (we are by a path).Think it was drunk kids.Have had other odd things thrown just because where we are.

Police won't help.Kids are vile nowadays.More destructive due to no discipline school/home/police.

Best forget it (and it nearly killed me trying to get over our 6 ft fence to get after them....worst thing to do,they love that)

leave it for now and see if it happens again, try not to get into a confrontational situation if you catch anyone they will try and wind you up and things will get out of control and you will be in trouble then..contact the police and definetly get cctv

Thanks guys.

Torpid, never had anything to do with you before yet have read numerous posts condemning your pointless inane witterings. Brilliant way to spend you time.

The middle management comment was to try to give any readers an idea of the type of estate....not once was I referring to myself as middle management.

Grow up mate!

Davegtt...I dont think it was his kids...more likely to be him! Torpid please don't tell me you have been allowed to breed!

'jealous off'

Who exactly would be jealous of someone who lived on a new build 'middle management' estate?

They represent the most banal way of being I can imagine.

'Harvester' culture.

I didn't imagine for one minute anyone would be boasting about being 'middle management' either...........such small people, living small lives with small dreams............

Middle Management Estates are calling themselves Villages around here. They get most annoyed if you say they live on a housing estate.

Brett, if it was me in your situation I would let it lie for a few night & see what happens as often a reaction would invoke them further, maybe they are just trying there luck?
It could be a one off but if it happens again and maybe again further actions should be taken, like others have said CCTV, I am not sure if you have a drive with gates, which in there own right create an initial barrier & demarks your domain {so to speak} but if it did continue then I would myself try to find out who they were & either speak to them or their parents {if they are of that age}

Hopefully it was a one off & won't happen again.

Paul.

PS - Lets hope Torpid has been done so he cannot breed

The point remains: What do you expect living in a place like that?

They are full of scum and vermin.

Oh and ronald, I find McDonalds similarly repulsive. It doesn't mean though that I'm jealous of the people that eat there.............

Just waiting for the tired old 'it's half term' comments next.

Face facts, you live somewhere **** where people vandalise your crappy house. These are facts you provided yourself.
