Mobile phone number question - Pac number
My missus's phone contract is actually owned by her Mother. My lass wants a new phone and contract but for one reason and another she wants to retain her number while having the account in her name. Vodafone are being a PITA about this (don't ask).
My question - if her mother cancels her contract and requests the pac number, can my lass then use this pac number to open a new account?

Not much help - but when my husband left I wanted to keep my mobile number which he had on contract. He went into O2 and got a code from them and we transferred me over to pay as you go. Simple. Kept my number and phone. However, this was O2 contract to O2 pay as you go so not sure how Virgin would handle.

Can you not tell her mum to swap from contract to PAYG and keep the same number then after doing this ring them up and say its now owned by your mrs so they swap all details, then your mrs can ring up and ask about a contract and swap this number over again from PAYG to contract
If that makes sense then your smarter than me

The network can only issue a PAC to the account holder, nobody else, even if they know the password etc on the account.
You need to get a PAC before you disconnect the account, once the account is disconnected you've lost the number.
Just get your Mrs's mum to ring Vodafone and they should sort you out no probs.
Hope that helps
