Red face BST --> GMT

If your working over Saturday night (police etc) do you get an extra hours pay or get to go home early!?
Also if a pub/club closes at 2am, does it close at the first 2am or the second one? :s

There isn't a second 2am as the clocks go forwards at midnight.

Come in Lewis, your time is up!

Last time I was out on a Saturday night/Sunday morning when this happened the clocks went back but the club closed as if the clocks stayed the same.... i.e. its open for say 8 hours every saturday/sunday and it was only open 8 hours that weekend aswell not 9 hours.

HTHs Some clubs maybe different though.

The clocks don't go back at midnight. At 01:59:59, the clocks roll back to 00:59:59, and then carry on as normal.

We don't get paid extra, but we don't get less in the spring change either. Always make sure I do nothing in the extra hour though

My hourly paid guys on nights will get an extra hours pay as they will be working 13hours instead of 12.

I'm on a fixed salary so wouldn't get any extra no matter how many hours I did.
So I'll be stopping at home all weekend.

Cheers

Where is the old codger, he hasn't tried this old chestnut this time.
It's like his signature and he's going to miss it.

I think they should stay on GMT all the time to stop all the hassle twice a year. What daylight you lose you gain at the other end of the day.

Well our system clock, feed from the ATC radar, resets at 01:59:59. I'm not going to quibble about 1 second.

That's just a hack, probably to avoid automated hourly events from triggering at the wrong time I'd guess.
