Winston Smith, his chin nuzzled into his breast in an effort to escape the vile wind, slipped quickly through the glass doors of Victory Mansions, though not quickly enough to prevent a swirl of gritty dust from entering along with him.

They use a helicopter around here for 'yob watching'. Circles around and around in the sky for what seems like hours sometimes - noisy, intrustive, and generally intimidating. What a misuse of resources. It costs 6K of poll tax every time they launch it apparently.
A couple of regular coppers in a panda car is all that's required.

Wonder if the coppers would actually attend the violent areas or would they just sit in their offices watching the screen.
