Best/worst holidays?
Where is the best holiday destination you have been to?
Also the worst for comparison.
We have a ten year old daughter and are both around 40 so no mega jungle tracking excursions etc.please.
Your thoughts?

Hard to say really I think, best holiday was a toss up between Germany for a week or Canada (Calgary and Banff) for a week.
Worst holiday is tough aswell cause a holiday is what you make of it. Malta wasnt anything special but we still enjoyed ourselves. Tenerife was a bit of a dive IMO not to mention expensive.

Tokyo was my best holiday.
It was clean, the people are friendly ,the food (and beer) was excellent, no chavs, you could go out at night and not worry about getting into a fight.
There are plenty of places to visit (temples, museums, etc),public transport was excellent (turned up on time and clean).
It was cheap to get there went with Virgin cost £470 for the flight(direct) and i stayed in a ryokan (like a B&B so was relatively cheap about £100 for a week including breakfast).
Haven't really had a bad holiday.

OK, with a ten year old, you need things to do , and OTHER GIRLS TO MEET!
Believe me, I have two lads, and even now, their best holidays have always been when there's LOADS more kids their age.
Most of our holidays have been caravanning in France beside a nice river, with a pool available, pool, table football and table tennis tables, and excursions like canoeing, pony trekking, walking, and then disco at night.
Campsite discos tend to cater for younger oners until about 11 o'clock, then older ones take over.
Have a look ay Keycamps, Eurotent, or look on the web for mobile home/chalet hire.
Be careful to check that English people go there, unless your daughter speaks Dutch! BTW: Older Dutch girls:
My two lads still e-mail and msn other kids they met YEARS ago.

As a child's holiday, you can't beat Orlando.
Although, as parents you will get fed up of the theme park entrance fees, driving everywhere, and the Americans in general
So spend a week by the theme parks, and then head up to the Tampa/Clear water area to chill out for the second week.
When I was a lad I was dragged out to all sorts of places regardless if they were "child friendly" holidays - Hong Kong, Thailand, Egypt, Israel, Malta ( ), Crete, Canaries etc, and was told to put up and stop whinging

Hey guys, lovin the replies, some great suggestions, lovin the Japan idea.
Been to all of the Disney parks and all of the Universal studio's in both U.S. and Europe loved them all (OK liked Paris/Salou).
Now the idea of Disney with no Americans and well behaved courteous crowds sound great, anyone been to Disney Japan?
Also lovin the idea of somewhere sunny, been to Canaries, Malta, Carribean, South Pacific, West Indies, South Africa, etc.
In the current climate (political and weather) would like to go somewhere warm but not anti-UK politically as I can't be bothered with the hassle.
As a Scot I am less willing to argue about "Britishness" with any opposing views and would not like this to be an issue.
Thanks for your replies keep em coming.

Best holiday for me was in Hawaii on Oahu. You have the metropole of Honolulu and Waikiki but beautiful places are only a short way away. Its expensive though.
Spent a day at Disney Japan. Its better than Paris but have not been to disneyworld in America so cant compare.
Worst holiday was recently at Centerparks. nothing wrong with the place, just my next door neighbours kids who need a good slap!
