Default Using a public weighbridge

I'd be quite interested in knowing the exact weight of my car, and I'd also like to know how much of that weight was on the front and rear.

Assuming I find a local one how does it work ? Just turn up ? Has anyone done the front and rear weights separately or does the operator insist on the car being entirely on the platform ? And finally, that would make three measurements, so would I be charged for three or just one ?

Any first-hand knowledge welcome.

used a lot in the lorry, usually charge between £3 and £5, cant imagine they would charge you any more for 3 weighs unless they were busy.

depends who you get and how nice they are I guess?

Got a weighbridge at work as we weigh tankers in and out. Comes in handy for a quick measure up of the scooby.

During the new Northern Irish MOT the machine that tests the brake's also weighs the car at the wheels (for some reason), mine weighed 515kg but mine is only 2wd and therefore doesn't have a rear axle, but I didn't notice the weight of the front end.

Corner weight kit can be bought from Demon Tweeks; you might need to sit down before you read the price though.

Most council tips have a weighbridge where they will allow you to weigh a private
vehicle. Ours charges £5 a time.
