Default Barbecue in the kitchen?

Is there any reason why you can't have a small gas barbecue in the kitchen?
Just thought it would be a great way to get that real 'tikka' taste.

Any suggestions for which small gas barbecue to buy?

Just the smokey / fat laden fumes that barbecues give off really, I mean look at your local kebab shop...... pretty high volume extraction....... unless you're in there on a Saturday night..... at which point that's the last thing you'd be looking at

Gas grill are similar to gas hobs. The flavour comes from the coal thats on the flame. I.E gas BBQs. So you shouldnt really get the black smoke, unless you burn it.

Some of the cookers we sell can have a chargrill built in but you need a top quality, externally venting, hood.

You also need to bung the filters in the dishwasher a heck of a lot.

They are brilliant though. www.lacanche.co.uk - Not cheap though!

Maybe not such a good idea then!

Dave I have a very good externally venting hood, but I've just installed a fitted kitchen so too late for one of those! Wish I'd thought more about it before!

Look at the Neff domino range of hobs, they do a BBQ grill. Not cheap though

I have an "Olive" Italian gas hob with a BBQ lavarock grill in the middle, great for the rib eye, but there isn't any provision for collecting the fat, giving interesting "flame grill" moments if I don't clean it out regularly

GU, I was at one time looking at the domino range because you could add this nice bits on. Problem was everything else I wanted was Siemens and so it never happened.
Anyway now I have the hob, and work surface cut to size and fitted so thats that. I'm just trying to figure out whether I can replicate that flame grilled taste in the kitchen somehow...

TB, not a bad idea except the garage is probably a more dangerous place for me to do it ie exposed timber, paints, oils etc
