Double Glazing....how to buy it?
Have a simple need:
Garage conversion will soon be stated and that needs a window.
Other side of the house is a living room wooden window which needs dumping and replaced by one to match the garage conversion.
So how do i buy 2 windows without getting stitched up? National firm, local firm?
and what should i expect to pay ....ball park?
anyone suggest anyone local to Reading, Berks?

Seriously, I'm near Wokingham and we had Homeview do ours. Great presales. Installation fine (I was here the whole time so I had an idea of what was happening!). After sales leaves something to be desired - though it was just delays in getting vartious little things sorted.

Several neighbours have gone with Thames Valley Windows. Same sort of quality/issues as far as I've heard.

Homeview were the cheapest (after they matched the cheapest first quote!) and they could offer a front door with the same key for both locks. One that doesn't have one of those silly great pad bars!!

Stay away from anyone offering BOGOF deals as they'll be a bunch of conning w@nkers. I went with a local firm "here's your price, there's no haggling and if you want finance get a bank loan 'cos our APR's ridiculous"

Any joiner or builder will have trade contacts.
On the assumption that you are having someone do the conversion for you, they should be able to get you a window.
