How much is the media involved with the Pope/Muslim thing?
Are muslims REALLY getting all up in arms (literally?) about the pope story? Or is it just the media whipping up an anti-muslim storm etc. After all, has anyone actually SEEN these muslims getting up in arms? Certainly not on my high street. Or are they just going to somewhere like bradford and finding a street with some loonies in, paying them some cash, giving some of them some pictures of the pope to burn and so on. Bit like Damian in Drop the dead donkey
So in other words, we've all read about it, but how many of us have actually seen these protests?

Are you suggesting that our esteemed media would stoop so low? Well, if you're not, I am
You don't need to do a Dead Donkey thing, just pop up to the local mosque and ask a few leading questions. No Muslim cleric is going to agree with the Pope is he? And you've got the story.
No smoke without fire though, and there has been a burning of Popish effigies in the middle east. I think they missed a trick there, though. Should have cut his head off with a plastic knife from McDonalds, or blown him to bits at least
Richard.

the pope and his advisors are not that stupid, they knew this would create uproar. I think its all a publicity stunt otherwise why quote such a thing? what was so relevant to quote that? also if you look back at the history of christianity theres nothing mohammad (pbuh) did with his swords that christians havent done yet!!!
my theory:
few media tycoons pump money into vatican every now and then, vatican needs money, so they create this uproar so media can make money and has sufficient funds to pump into vatican.

Are you suggesting that the Papacy is motivated by money, and that Christianity is not entirely blemish-free? You'll go downstairs for that - it's written, so it must be true
Next you'll be saying that America's interest in the middle east has something to do with oil
And I might just agree with you. Sadly

Nope, you're quite right. It was all in the interests of world peace, and that mission has been 100% successful. Just look at all those happy, smiling Iraqis America is also rejoicing. And we're thrilled to bits here in the UK, aren't we.
Actually, the only people who seem to regards the current state of Iraq as a bit of a result is Al Qaeda, those who actually were responsible for 9/11. You couldn't write a worse disaster scenario.
What an utter, ******* mess. With no end in sight.
Richard.
