Angry Postman has hit my car and said nowt

Work on a farm on a Friday, parked my car up outside the farmhouse. Immaculate as always.
Left work at 2.30 this arvo and noticed a big bright red mark all along the back panel and scratch on the back indicater light
No one at the farm has a red car. I contacted Royal Mail to be told I needed the reg number of the post man's van. How the hell can they not know which postman is on which round
Anyway, got a complaint number and have been told by the farmer to leave the evidence and he will have a word with the postman tomorrow.
Have I any redress with this. The damage is superficial but that is not the point. I am furious

Don't leave it too long, you don't want him to get an explanation off pat.

PM me the address of the farm, I'll pm back the name and number of the delivery manager who deals with that address
Scumbag driver not owning up to hitting an impreza, he should be shot!

I did once try and get away with not telling my boss at the time about the missing bumper on the car due to hitting a wall!

Have you joined up on www.wr1oc.co.uk yet? also noted your name is 84of300 does the 300 relate to the WR1 or a previous car as there were 500 WR1s....edited to add just looked at your post count and I guess you were 84of300 long before the WR1 was about what was it a uk300??...all the best.

of course you have a redress.
as you witnessed the incident all you need to do is speak with the delivery manager and inform him that if he wont provide the details of the driver then you will inform the cops that the post driver failed to stop at the scene of an accident, im sure royal mail wont want that.

Dear me it's shameful when people drive off after hitting your car, you have some redress as it was an accident an he should report it nomatter, all you need do is check the van when it next delivers to see if the marks match failing that contact the police if you don't get anywhere with royal snail.

dont forget to add that you saw him do it but ,was not close enough to get the reg plate of the van, you can describe the vehicle though.

hate it when people do this type of thing, has happened to us twice, sold the car now

good luck

you dont stand a chance of getting a claim against them !! a few years back someone hit my van i knew exactly who it was and the paint from my van was all over his rear end, i got the police involved and he told the police "that he had hit a car earlier" and since i had not witnessed it there was no chance of pursuing the claim
