Question Airline Liability

Hypothetical question for the NSR font of knowledge:

If I were traveling abroad for a couple of weeks and the carrier loses my luggage - be it stolen, lost, whatever. Is there a limit to their liability - such as the Montreal Convention or is this on a carrier by carrier basis?

As I am obviously put at a great inconvenience having to buy new clothes and toiletries and there is also the value of the clothes and posessions that I had in my suitcase, not to mention the case itself...

Has anybody any experience of this?

TIA

Wink

I'm sure the financial liability is stated on the back of the ticket, me thinks . . .Something like the Warsaw Convention (no - not the Warsaw Pact ) - I I think its 10000 USD, but please don't quote me on that . .
