i was in court last week as a witness for the prosecution (CPS). Had the defendant done up like a kipper, CCTV evidence the works,
Phoned up for the decision today and the case has been dismissed !!!!!! WTF!!!!
How ?
Why ?
Have been told ‘We will sent you a letter explaining why’ FFS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I spend a morning in court / witness box etc etc to help convict this toe rag piece of scum and the case gets ******* dismissed!!!!!
And they can’t be bothered to tell me why over the phone.
Tell you if that’s the state of the English legal system they can shove it where the sun doesn’t shine (and I don’t mean Rochdale !)

I work for a firm of solicitors and it's amazing what can get a case kicked out of court - the tiniest admin error - not the solicitors fault per se - with the best will in the world mistakes will sometimes happen - but the fact that a case can be thrown out for something really silly & insignificant is complete madness and a waste of everyone's time and money IMHO.
Can't imagine the lega systems of other countries are much less crazy...

Unless it's a speeding case of course, in which case this is a Good Thing.

It's ironic really, I've travelled to a lot of places in Asia and Africa and a lot of them still have what they proudly call the British law system, no doubt this stems from the days of the Empire but they kept it on when they got the Independence, if they could see it now they'd be pissing themselves, sadly.

totally agree. i was on the wrong end of a driveby shooting in feburary (on my birthday night out) where my brother and mate got hit.
we then recieve threatening phonecalls to drop the case, these stop just when the police phone me up to tell me the case is being dismissed due to "evidence problems". This is even tho that the guy who did it was on cctv, witnessed by several people and they recovered the shotgun........
******* joke.

Can totally sympathize (sp) with you mate ,something similar happened to myself.I was delivering into a warehouse and witnessed two pikeys stealing stuff into the back of a 4x4,at first i thought they were maybe legit but turns out they weren't. I remembered there reg number(PP) and one guy had a couple of very distinguishable tatoos, they were also caught on cctv.
In the end you would think they were bang to rights and they would come clean. Oh no they had an alibi ,turns out in the end the police reckoned they didn't have enough evidence to take them to court(wtf).
So mate the reality is ,in this day and age it isn't enough to catch the scum red handed, the law is biased towards the criminal!
