New Mobile?
Looking to get a new mobile, came across the Samsung D900 which looks ok.... what other phones are worth considering these days?
My bro has the Nokia N80 which isn't bad but it's a bit "chunky" and the battery life seems to be a bit crap (has to charge it nearly every day and he hardly uses it!)
Any others worth a look??

I have never really been a fan of the Sony Ericsson phones, they always seem to be a pain to use, and I have had a few different makes over the years but never really got on with those.
Im not really fussed about playing MP3's on a phone to be honest, I mainly use it for........errrrmmm....... well, making phone calls on it and I do txt a fair bit as I get a load of these free each month.
I have a DSLR camera for when I want to take pics so im not too bothered about having a camera in the phone but I guess it would be a nice added bonus if it could take pics and maybe the odd mpeg.
So what’s the difference between the Samsung E900 & D900?
Cheers

I prefer the looks of the D900 and I think it is a newer model, it also has a 3MP camera vs a 2MB on the E900.
The best phone at the moment is still the SE K800i, but it is amazing how different it is between the different service providers. I have a Vodafone one and my wife an Orange one, the menus are completely different and even the buttons have different functions. (the Orange one sucks)

Got myself the D900 last week and it's a really nice phone.
Steered away from the E900 because of the reports of the touch screen being a pain to use (too sensitive)
Camera is really good, screen is brilliant, just managed to get the e-mails working on it which is good. (300kb limit though)
Bad points (after being a nokia user for about 10 years).
The "back button" doesn't just go back one step like a nokia but completely cancels what you are doing.
It wouldn't be so bad if the message you just typed was still there when you got back into the "new text message menu" like it is on the nokia, nope, blank screen and start again.
Once I've got out of the habit of the differences between button actions, I'm sure it'll be fine...
Also a few more key presses to get where you want to go but that's what you get when it's packed with features I suppose.
The buttons are a little recessed being a slide phone so if you have porky digits you'll probably struggle to get at the corner buttons.
The only other gripe is you can't separate the slide chime to the key press chime so it's either totally silent or fecking annoying.

Don't know about mp3's and message alerts yet as I've not had it long enough to play with it much.
Top phone though, cant fault it much (few niggles still but that's only cos I'm not used to it.)

I'm in a similar boat.
Took a new contract out with Voda & got a 6280. It's faulty though !! I've now got the option for a replacement 6280 or something else, but what ??? 6233 OR 6234, or something I'm missing ???
Normally a Nokia guy, but can be tempted to stray !!
Thanks !!
