It has been for sale on expansys for about three weeks now - you are so last month baby 
Orange are still testing but it within their 'coming soon' window.
Other networks vary but indicate mid-September launch.
Too late anyway - I got an HTC Hermes model type - really good and does all that the 990 promises in a form factor that is almost identical in size.
It has a bigger screen too for good measure.

the firmware seems to have a few bugs still which are hampering the handset. Credit to SE though they are pretty quick at fixing these things and you can update easily via the web.
