Just watched some footage of the protests at Drax powerstation today.

One Demo leader said that all coal fired stations should be switched off straight away and they wanted to stop generation at Drax today.

Don't they realise that would potentially leave half the country without power and force energy prices through the roof?

If they had succeeded in shutting down Drax today there would probably have been major power disruption.

I think we all agree that CO2 output needs to be sorted and carbon capture may be the answer but these protesters are clueless.
Drax is the most effecient station of it's type, yes it's the biggest polluter in the UK but that's because it's by far the biggest station in Europe.
Drax produces 7 times more electricity than every windfarm in the UK.

I Was working in Selby today,not a rozzer in sight.All must of been down the road at Drax, Did manage to get me foot down on the go pedal a bit more
