Ticked off with BT Broadband....
Won't bore you with the details but we are REALLY getting very, VERY ticked off with BT Broadband.
Totally went off last week and they weren't going to fix it for at least 5 days.
T'other half played merry hell down the line to those ...er.... operators in India. (When he could get them to understand him).
Finally got it back 3 days later.
Now, for the last two - three days it's been on-off-on-off........tonight I find I cannot access my email.
So, we are considering going back to AOL for want of anyone any better.
Wouldn't mind, but we're not able to get full speed here either but are still expected to pay full whack. DOH !

Feel MUCH better now.

Depending on what the problem is will determine whether it is worth moving anywhere else. If it is a problem with your Broadband line then whther you use BT or AOL or anyone else then the same line will be used and the same problem will apply. In fact I would suggest, albeit BT would deny it, that there is more likliehoood of a line problem getting fixed quickly if your broadband is with BT due to the vested interest!
However problems getting emails sounds more like an ISP problem and would change with a different ISP.

Ask to speak to the tech desk in Newcastle, they are much better.
We had some problems with our wireless kit, however some quick searches dicovered some common faults/issues with the BT kit - might be worth a go, to rule it out if nothing else.

In my experience BT are a shower of sh1te. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.
Most people seem to go with them because they assume they are the obvious choice. Take a look at www.adslguide.org.uk for some impartial advice and go with someone who cares!

Problem with Adsl.org.uk is that they provide a huge list most of whome most people will jave never heard of. The story about euronet on their homepage shows why one should be cautious about using someone you have never heard of.
They also of course have forums were people can talk about their ISPs but these are biaised because by nature people with problems are more likely to complain and the bigger companies are likely to have more complainers! What one really needs is figures showing the percentage of unhappy/happy bunnies against total customers!

Muchos gracias for the advice people. oh and the tissue Sarah.
Chris, I think the line does have a prob and of course as you rightly say, thereby hangs the problem whoever we go with. Emails are back on this morning but we shall still pursue this with venom.
Cheers
