Watched this last night with a mixture of morbid fascination and horror. These scum really are on some other planet, they are not football fans. There were no mitigating factors - they went out to cause trouble and fight and that is exactly what they did. The thing that they alluded to in the programme was that this sort of violence is not a wholly English phenomenon - the Poles, the Germans and the Turks were just as bad.

Would never have got aired if they were. The BBC would have been accused of being racist then.

As Skyline says its not just English fans like some like to think it is just because they dont like the sport every supporter gets branded by the same iron. Looking at the amount of fans travelling there, the amount that they drank, the trouble was kept to a minimum. In fact there was probably more trouble on street in England than there was by travelling supporters.

Not excusing the idiots who did cause trouble though, the quicker people llike that are banned from travelling the it can only be a good thing for future competitions

Conversely, at the rugby world cup:

- You don't have segregated fans.
- You don't have alcohol banned in the ground.
- You don't have so-called fans fighting each other. (just the players)
- You DO have a numpty that can't take a decent penalty kick. (Charlie Hodgson )

- You don't have segregated fans. - Neither are they at the Football WC
- You don't have alcohol banned in the ground. - Its not at the Football WC
- You don't have so-called fans fighting each other. (just the players) - You got it right first time, "so called fans"
- You DO have a numpty that can't take a decent penalty kick. (Charlie Hodgson ) - Snap

No difference then

I have to say that the footage of the Germans and Polish fans meeting in a field for a fight, was the most ludicrous thing ever! They just kind of stood around for a bit then ran at each other for a huge fight!

The other thing they failed to point out was the 80,000 England fans partying in Stuttgart with no trouble at all after the Ecuador game. Also the thousands of England fans partying in Stuttgart with the Portuguese even after they knocked us out. And the thousands of England fans partying in Stuttgart when Germany were playing. 170,000 Engalnd fans went to Germany and about 500 got arrested, not a bad result if you ask me.

I went to watch all the England games in Schloßplatz in Stuttgart and had a fantastic time with people from more nationalities than I new existed and never once felt the need to punch someones lights out, I also went to watch all the Germany games with my German mates whilst wearing my England shirt.

just sensationalism, didn't show anything that hasn't been shown before. We all know there are f*cking sub-humans out there that ought to be put down or sent to sea in bog-roll boats…and most of them seem to like football

Panorama, Cutting Edge, Dispatches have all lost it over the last couple of years; nothing particularly informative, just subjects that are intended to pull in viewers. Brass Eye becomes a reality.

I find it interesting (in a sadistic kind of way) to see our English ***** fighting away for Queen and country.

Bunch of ***** that should be shot along with their fat, sponging wives and 12 kids,

The one thing that really made me sick was the sight of one of the scum of the earth so called fans with his kid on his shoulder chanting racist crap. He really was a good role model.

I had to turn it off a few times because it made me so angry looking at a minority of ********* ruining it for every one else.

the best part was the thugs screaming at the other fans\cops with their kids on their shoulders...educating the next generation; good work scumbags
